Western PA Bruins announces a partnership with the Alexandria, VA-based firm Firestarter to provide ongoing personal branding and name, image, and likeness (NIL) education and support to Bruins student-athletes.

Firestarter is led by award-winning marketing, public relations, and events professional Frances Reimers, who has over 20 years of experience building brands for organizations and individuals. Since 2016, Reimers has worked with collegiate and professional athletes and coaches to help them create, manage, grow, and protect their personal brands.

“Today’s student-athletes have the opportunity to leverage their personal brands in ways that their predecessors were not able to benefit from. With that being the case, it’s important that both the student-athletes and their families educate themselves to the process. That’s the goal of the Western PA Bruins-Firestarter partnership, and we’re very excited about what this partnership can provide both current and future Bruins,” said John Tate, Executive Director, Western PA Bruins.

“Personal brand-building and reputation management is no longer an adults-only space,” said Frances Reimers, Founder and CEO, Firestarter. “Today’s student-athletes need to be equipped with the skills and resources for healthy and responsible brand-building to set them up for life-long success on and off the court.”

The free one-hour in-person sessions will be scheduled for the fall and spring. Stay tuned to our website and social media for more details.
